	Complementing the sophisticated laboratory test, a simple and practical test for liquid penetration of EMS fabrics was developed by Gore. Simulating pressure at elbows or knees from everyday movements, the test uses an ink pad and simulated blood, and quickly shows whether blood is likely to pass through a fabric under normal usage conditions.
